Brandt Michelet
Owner & CEO, Michelet Financial
Brandt Michelet is the owner and CEO of Michelet Financial, the Houston firm behind Big Ass Tax Returns. He has more than 15 years of accounting and finance experience and founded Michelet Financial in January 2023.
Before founding the firm, Brandt spent more than five years in a senior accounting role at Landry’s, Inc. (2017–2023), where he worked closely with Tilman Fertitta’s organization on financial efficiency and strategic decision-making across a large portfolio of hospitality and entertainment brands. That work gave him a close view of large-scale financial operations, mergers, acquisitions and investment strategy.
Earlier, he was a senior accountant at Ignite Restaurant Group (2015–2017), a project accountant at Turner Industries (2012–2015) and a financial analyst at the accounting firm DeRouen & Wells (2010–2012). He holds a B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Southeastern Louisiana University.
At Michelet Financial, he brings that background to Houston business owners and individual filers: cash flow management, strategic investments, complex accounting and year-round tax strategy, not just a filed return.
